AI in Our Daily Lives: Kaduna's Conversation on Building AI That Understands Us
On Saturday 7 November, KadQuantumHub hosts the first AI in Our Daily Lives gathering - four hours of honest conversation, live demos and a Local AI Problem Lab. Free, 60 seats, no coding needed.
AI is here to stay. The question is whether we will understand it well enough to shape how it works for our people, our languages, our culture and our everyday challenges.
That is why, on Saturday 7 November 2026, the KadQuantumHub AI Community is opening its doors for the first edition of AI in Our Daily Lives - and you are invited.

Beyond using AI
Most conversations about AI stop at "here is a cool tool". This one goes further. We are asking a harder, more important question: should the future of AI simply happen to us, or should we help shape it?
Learn · Question · Build
Move from using technology to building it - with Kaduna Quantum Innovations Hub.
Online courses with video lessons and certificates, SIWES / IT placement, and a free AI community for students and professionals.
Where you do your SIWES decides whether you come back with real skills or a logbook full of errands. Here are honest answers to the questions students ask most - and why KadQuantumHub is built to make your industrial training count.

"The future of AI should not simply happen to us. We should help shape it."
Artificial intelligence is changing how people learn, work, communicate, create and do business. But if we only ever use systems built elsewhere, we risk:
Dependencyrelying on tools we cannot evaluate or influence.
Missing our language and culturesystems that miss idioms, humour, context and social nuance in Nigerian languages and communities.
Using instead of solvingknowing how to use a tool is valuable, but it is not the same as researching, adapting or building solutions for local problems.
Not blind adoption. Not blanket rejection. We want to learn how AI works, examine what it gets right and wrong, and grow the people and partnerships needed to make it more useful and responsible here. (We wrote more about this in We cannot afford to be just consumers of AI.)
Three questions for the room
1What are we already trusting AI to do? - in education, work, business, communication and everyday decisions.
2What does AI fail to understand about us? - language, culture, bias, privacy, misinformation and local context, explored with real examples.
3What should we start building ourselves? - real local problems, people with complementary skills, and the first project teams.
The programme (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM)
10:00 - Welcome and opening question:where does AI already affect your life?
10:15 - AI from zero:a plain-language foundation - what AI is, what it can and cannot do.
10:40 - AI in practice:live demos across learning, business and local-language use, with honest limitations.
11:25 - Does AI understand our realities?Local language, culture, bias, privacy and misinformation.
12:00 - The AI debate:can we rely on AI systems we do not fully understand? What should local capability look like?
12:45 - Local AI Problem Lab:small groups define a real local problem and decide whether AI is the right answer.
13:30 - Pitches and team sign-up, then closing and next steps.
The Local AI Problem Lab
The heart of the day. The goal is not to force every challenge into an AI solution - it is to find real needs, understand them properly and decide where AI may, and may not, help. Groups will look at areas like:
Language and culturelocal expressions, speech, translation and language resources.
Educationlearning support and tools suited to local learners.
Small businesscustomer enquiries, record-keeping, inventory and marketing.
Agricultureuseful information, market intelligence and practical support for farmers.
Public and community servicesmaking trusted information easier to find and understand.
Each group asks: Who has this problem, and how do we know? What is missing today? Would AI help - or would something simpler work better? What is the smallest useful experiment we can run in 30 days?
Who should come?
Students, developers, AI enthusiasts, researchers, educators, entrepreneurs, creatives, business owners, community practitioners - and anyone curious about AI. You do not need to know how to code. Local knowledge, research, design and domain expertise matter just as much as technical skill.
More than one day
The event is the beginning of the work, not the whole of it. Teams formed on the day continue with a 30-day follow-up: we review the ideas, choose one or two manageable problems, run a small build-and-research session, and share honestly what worked, what failed and what comes next.
Registration takes 30 seconds: your name, email, phone and occupation. Your ticket arrives by email.

AI is changing how we live, work, learn and do business. The real question is: are we only learning to use it, or are we building the future it serves? A call to students, developers, creatives and problem-solvers to move from users to builders.
